This video includes all four parts to a series of videos which starts at sculpting/creating an original planter using plaster of Paris bandages, through to creating a concrete cast from the original planter model, which includes making the planter from scratch to form a model for molding, preparing the mold to make a latex mold, creating a mother mold to house the latex mold, an optional painting technique and creating a concrete cast from the latex mold. From the latex mold, taken from the original planter model or design, many concrete casts can be made to make many planters.

This video shows how to make a basic concrete mother mold from concrete. The mother mold is simple to make and using inexpensive materials, which consist of cement, sand, nylon fibres, concrete bonder and washing up liquid – basic concrete mix for this particular project.
There are obviously other ways and methods to make these types of mother molds, but in this video, it is shown how to make a relatively inexpensive mother mold for concrete casting or whatever materials one chooses to use.
The mold making process in this video, is the preferred method to the person who is making the mold and of course, there are many ways to make such molds and items. The video shows personal preference based on resources available and is not advocated as the most effective way to do things related to the content.
If anybody has suggestions on how to make these molds which are featured and mother molds in a more efficient and effective way, please let us know.

Make A Concrete Leaf – Concrete Leaf Casting – Small Gunnera Leaf Cast.
Making a concrete leaf cast from a small gunnera leaf. Using concrete mixed with two parts sand to one part cement, along with nylon fibres or polyfibres, concrete bonder and washing up liquid/dish-soap.
The definition and detail in the gunnera leaf will yield happy and surprising results. The concrete casted leaf in this video will be used to make a latex mold to create further casts of the model, or original.

Painting a concrete casted leaf with a bronze acrylic paint which contains real bronze particles. While wet, apply a green patina, which reacts with the bronze paint, to create a natural patina finish or aged/oxidized bronze look. Quick and easy technique which creates a realistic and beautiful finish. Paint used: bronze acrylic paint which contains real bronze metal particles.
