Live Stream Test #3 | Sound Latency Issues | Reaper | BIAS FX | OBS Studio | Video Media

Another test with live streaming via OBS Studio. I think we’re pretty much ready for a ‘proper’ live stream at any moment. Looks like there maybe a few latency issues to address. Grr!

Solved the latency issues in the live steam #4 test and what seemed to cause the latency issues with the guitar sound was running the guitar through two BIAS FX plugins – one in Reaper and the standalone plugin. I could only access the screen/window to put into OBS using the standalone plugin, but now, I am only using the BIAS FX plugin via Reaper to avoid sound latency issues.

Casting An Ammonite Fossil In Concrete

The final part in the series of molding & casting an ammonite fossil. In this video, we finally get around to casting the fossil in concrete and we also make a cast with plaster of Paris.

The video footage is taken from two existing videos on the channel which feature concrete and plaster of Paris casting. There are also two other parts to go with this fossil casting video which are making the latex mold and making the mother mold with fibreglass.

Quality Concrete Casting

After a few weeks casting concrete pieces and statues at the end of August and in September here in the UK, we can show how a good quality mix of concrete will create a good quality concrete cast. There were a few ‘bug-holes here and there on this small batch of three, which can be remedied by a cement filler after the casts are cured and for future casting to spend more time tapping and vibrating unwanted air out of the molds and seeing the places in the molds where the bug-holes are likely to form.

The concrete recipe used for casting in this video: 1 X Part cement. 2 X Parts sand. 2 X Parts aggregate. PVA (UK) bonder/bonding agent. Plasticiser/plasticizer.

Mixing Concrete For Casting

In this video we focus more on the concrete mix used here at Dramamask Evolution and looking for a consistency which isn’t too firm and not too slushy either – a mix which keeps it’s shape, but is also cooperative in being moved around the mold/mould.

Refining Concrete Mix For Casting Statuary & Concrete Pieces

After a mix which was too dry in the previous videos, we mix our concrete to a slurry consistency to help with fluid casting and keeping trapped air to a minimum. In this video we cast a relatively large dragon and a skull candle holder. Both pieces can be found on the channel in model construction and mold making videos.
