Sculpting an alien with Monster Clay. In this video we build the armature/foundation, add layers of clay and sculpt the alien head ready for the next video where we will be adding alien tentacles to the sculpt. The alien sculpt in the video is inspired by the alien featured in the early 1950s film, Invaders From Mars.
When the sculpture is finished, it will be molded and casted to reproduce replicas of the original sculpt.

Using acrylic paints to paint a concrete cast of a gargoyle. This gargoyle is being painted red. This video shows the step-by-step process. There is already a gargoyle cast painting video on the channel where the gargoyle is painted green, so thought it might be an idea to paint one red. Original sculpture by Dramamask Evolution.

Create A Gargoyle. Full series video featuring sculpting the gargoyle from clay, molding the clay gargoyle with latex, building the mother mold, casting the gargoyle with concrete and painting the concrete gargoyle cast.
——————————————————————————————————-
Part One:
Make & Sculpt A Gargoyle – Clay Sculpture.
Make and sculpt a gargoyle from water based clay. Showing parts and segments of the process sculpting and shaping a gargoyle from clay. Using items and tools, such as basic sculpting tools, and paintbrushes to create an effective sculpture of a gargoyle.
Part Two:
Make A Two Piece Plaster Mother Mold.
The latex mold for the gargoyle sculpture is being prepared in this part for the mother mold. The creation of the mother mold making process is shown to prepare for the next stage, which will be shown in the following part, to be ready for casting in concrete.
Part Three:
Cast A Concrete Gargoyle.
Cast the concrete gargoyle using a latex mold and plaster mother mold. Fill the latex mold with concrete from the pre-made molded gargoyle sculpture.
This part shows the casting process of how to cast the gargoyle in concrete which follows on from sculpting the gargoyle with clay and making the latex mold, plus the mother mold.
Concrete recipe: 2 parts sand to 1 part cement, squirt of washing up liquid/dish soap, concrete bonder and nylon fibres/polyfibres ( I forgot to mention the fibres in the video and you will need to add the fibres or similar aggregate to strengthen the mix. Plus mix in water, of course. 🙂
Part Four:
Paint A Concrete Gargoyle.
This part shows the stages of painting a concrete gargoyle using acrylic paints. A dry brush technique is used to build up layers of paint to create paint effects. The gargoyle was molded and casted in concrete from the original sculpture by Dramamask Evolution.
Colours used: black, white, brown (burnt umber), green (sap green), and yellow (cadmium yellow).

This video shows how to make a hand lifecast bookend model or prototype to use for a latex mold for casting further casts from concrete. The hand is made with using alginate and you can see how to make a hand lifecast in this video on the Dramamask Evolution channel – video link: https://youtu.be/g5HmOXGA82E
The hand lifecast, casted from plaster of paris, is embedded into a plaster of Paris panel or slab and the book end model is created using the techniques in this video.
The model cast is created to make the shape ready for latex molding and subsequent casts from the latex mold. When the mold is created, future casts will be casted using concrete for a substantial bookend which will be ready for practical use. A video showing the molding and casting process for the book end will be shown in a future video. In this video, the model is made and a painting effect shown ready for the molding process.
