Gold Dragon Cast With Faux Patina Paint Effects

Painting a concrete cast of a dragon using gold spray paint and acrylic paint washes to create a worn gold statuette with a faux patina.

Undercoat of black acrylic paint. Main coat of gold spray paint. Colour washes of dark brown acrylic paint mixture.

Acrylic Paint Mixing & Dry Brushing Techniques.

A video showing basic mixing of acrylic paints and dry brushing effects. Sorry for the angle of the video camera, but I hope there is some benefit in the video for some folk starting out with mixing colours and painting concrete items with acrylic paint. I will post up more detailed videos which feature paint mixing and brushing techniques in the future.

Create Sand Texture | Arts & Crafts

Create sand texture using PVA glue and sand. A relatively simple and effective technique to create sand texture on an array of projects and can be applied to any art and/or craft project.

In this video, I use an existing project by Dramamask Evolution to embellish the design and to create the effect I am looking. In this instance it is a Celtic plaque, which I wanted to create a sand texture in the deep cuts, to accentuate the design. I have also used the sand texturing on other projects and show examples at the end of the video, which includes a alginate casted hand sculpture, plus experimenting on a jam jar.
